Day 126, Song of Songs 3:7-4:16

Are you in a romantic relationship now? Are you seeking one? Are you questioning Gods will for a relationship?

Relationships, I don't know why but I love this topic. For those of you that don't know, my major is Psychology. I plan on becoming a Counselor one day. Hopefully doing Marriage and Family Counseling and maybe some Substance Abuse Counseling. Am I currently in a relationship? No, I am not. I had my share of relationships in high school. Ill be honest I did go out with a few girls, (3 to be exact but whose counting?) Obviously they didn't go well, if they did I would be in a relationship. So when I was in high school all my friends had girlfriends and boyfriends, and that really sucked. Every time I went to go out with a few friends, I was always the "third wheel". I guess in my freshmen year of high school there was a sense of jealousy, cause I wasn't in a relationship, but as I matured and grew older, I started to stop chasing after the girls, and just wait for the right one that God has planned for me =)

Am I seeking a relationship? As stated above Im just waiting for the girl to come to me. I found something really interesting pertaining to relationships! In our fellowship in high school at CEBC we had these journals that we kept, and in freshmen year we had one entry where we had to put the top 10 traits we look for in a girl, only 2 of those can be physical traits. So I dug it up and here it goes, (in not particular order..) 1) Christian 2) Outgoing 3) Good listener 4) Asian 5) Smells good 6) Can get along with my friends and family 7) Shorter than me 8) Caring 9) Loving 10) Good cook. (Remember this was freshmen year.) Just reflecting on that entry, it just shows how immature and shallow I was in freshmen year. But I guess we are all like that. We have these expectations for our significant other, and some of these expectations are a lot. I met a lot of people that wouldn't date someone cause they weren't a certain race. We all look on the outward appearance. I admit it I do that too. But physical appearances aren't everything. We shouldn't base our judgement on them by their outward appearance. Just like you don't judge a book by its cover.

And to answer the last question, Im not questioning Gods will for a relationship. My plan and Gods plan are totally different. I want 3 kids (First born boy) with a dog and a nice house. Just like the families you see on tv. haha thats not going to happen. So I am not questioning God at all for a relationship. Cause when God brings to me my significant other, when I meet her, I KNOW for sure she will be HOT! lol =)... Well to me she will be hot lol.

I think I answered all 3 questions. Anyways now I am just ranting on. Well I don't want to get TOO personal now.. If you guys want to know about my past relationships and what happened, feel free to ask me.. Or if there is anything you want to know about me, just ask me, Im friendly and Im open! I really don't mind telling you guys! I trust you guys! But yea.. just ask me..

  1. haha....sorry, but your list of what you look for in a girl made me laugh. hehe XD

i really like reading about your becoming of a mature guy. heh heh =P Yeah.....it is true that we start out by looking at the outer beauty of things. That is how it is......we see what attracts us first. Our eyes give us the first judgment. It is only later when our other senses comes in that helps form a proper judgment.

Hypothetically speaking.....what if everyone became blind? We would have to judge people solely on personality. It would be really interesting because people would not be able to judge others on color, body shape, facial features, clothing.....etc. Actually, to me, I think it would be really cool. People wouldn't be self-conscious anymore or inferior in looks. I guess towards people being blind sounds like a good solution, but the unfortunate part would be missing out on all the other naturally beautiful things like nature! hmmm......I sometimes wish that I can only be blind towards people's physical characteristic and just to see only the inner beauty.

People who are blind have an ability. It takes a lot of maturity to completely look past the physical beauty of this world and just to form judgment on what is on the inside. Of course they have no choice, but to me this is not a bad choice at all.

....yeah sorry for rambling.....anyways, thank you Daniel for sharing your post. It made me laugh and i got to hear more about your life. It is like hitting two birds with one stone. Ok....well, we should not hit birds, they have feelings too.....anyways, it would be really cool if there were more people out there that are like you who already sees that inner is cooler than outer.
