Day 69-Seeing through God's Eyes

This has been a very long story, we've been reading this past month. We're not Jewish, so what is the stories signifcance for us? Cannaan is a symbol of the life of blessing that God desires for each of His children. It's the work God wants to accomplish through us, it's the people and places God wants us to meet and go to. It's the sum of all the good things in life, that God deeply desires to bless us with:spouses, families, friends, homes, material poseessions, jobs, churches, joy. God has a perfect plan for each of God's children. The way we access it all, is no different than how the children of Israel, by faith, we must walk with God, and through obedience and faith claim it.

The problems the children of Israel faced were very real. But, they didn't realize that what they faced were marvelous opportunities disguised as problems. But they didn't remember God's miracles, they doubted, they disbelieved, became discouraged and then they disobeyed.

When I came back to Cumberland, I took a major pay cut, and added major expenses of returning to seminery. A part of me liked the security of my previous job. but after struggling for awhile, Iris and decided to step out by faith. God has blessed us with a fruitful ministry, interesting educational opportunities, new friends, a new home. All beyond my wildest expectations.
