For a believer, everything happens for a reason. We believe God is in control of it all. There are no coincidences. God has things He wants to accomplish in the world, and God selects people to accomplish these purposes. God prepares the selected people to accomplish the task. We see this in Moses' story. God miraculously preserves Moses' life. God sees to it, that Moses receives the best education and opportunities to bewcome a leader. God prepares Moses' heart, so he is outraged by the injustice of the Pharoah against the Jews. But Moses' plan backfires and he has to flea. God will use the good, pleasant things as well as the unpleasant things to prepare Moses and us. God will use the wise decisions and the folly in our life.
It's God's will we have the parents and family we have. Similarly the schools, the church, we attend, the friends and experiences we have are all preparing us for something special that God has in mind for us. When we realize this truth, we can co-operate with God, by making the most of every opportunity and experience. God has given each of us a unique set of talents and abilities. We can co-operate by polishing them, developing new skills and looking for opportunities to use them for God. As we trust and obey, God will lead us step by step.
In my own life, one very important way God has prepared me is by bringing people in my life, whose good influence helped me to grow. They have been good examples for me to emulate. Interacting with them their good qualities rub off on me. For instance, one of the pastors in my life had a tremendous gift of speaking to people with great encouragement. He always said the right thing, at the right time in the right way. I find there are always people we can learn from. God is always putting them in our lives if we pay attention. I have learned alot from people in the fellowship. In our fellowship we have some excellent worshippers. They demonstrate weekly what it means to worship God. Others are very positive and encouraging. Others are very creative. Others see the humor in situations. I could go on and on.
