Day 85 -Surprising People

I came to SF 11 years ago. I knew two people. So I had to begin to develop a life. SF can be a pretty lonely, strange place. So I asked God to help me find friends. God provided Doug. We were like brothers from the start. We were both japense Americans. We had the same hobbies and interests. As we talked we would share stories. I would tell one, and he would have an almost identical experience. He would tell one, and I had the same experience. It was uncanny. We became close friends. At Seminary, we have to learn Greek. At my age it was very hard to learn a new language. The teacher suggested we find a study partner. I met Eric, he was totally different from me; white, grew up very wild, went to a neo-Pentocostal church, saw almost everything from a different point of view from me. But we became very good friends as well. Be open to who God brings into your life. Have good boundaries but learn from and appreciate each other.
