Day 59-Manna

The Israelites were on the move, so they could not farm. Also there were perhaps upto 2 million of them. The desert is not that productive. Their physical survival was dependent on God's provision for them. As the narrative shows God did provide for all of them, but there were rules they needed to follow. Physically most of us are doing ok, but spiritually we need God's help to handle life. Jesus claimed He was Living Water and Living Bread. Spiritually if we are to have a healthy spiritual life we need to be spiritually nourished through worship, prayer, scripture reading and study, obedience, fellowship. I find if I neglect these resources from God, then I become spiritually weak: I find it difficult to keep my emotions in check, I lack the ability to love others, be patient, and calm, I am more susceptible to temptation, my work suffers. So I need to stay connected to God. This blog and the JHF group have been very helpful in helping me keep my focus and health. Thanks for all of you who are my companions on this trip.
