When have you seen God move to change a person's heart?
It's very humbling to discover the length that God will go to in order to get your attention. For some, it's a quick trip. For others, drastic, and sometimes tragic, events have to occur before we even consider that God might be calling out to us. In today's passage, Pharaoh had to go through 10 ugly, life-changing plagues before he would release the Israelites from Egypt's oppression.
This reminded me of how God reached out to my friend. When her husband died at age 42, my friend was devastated. Yet, she was keenly aware that he was in the presence of God in Heaven because he knew Jesus Christ as his Savior. She felt an overwhelming peace, and within 6 months, she also gave her life to Christ. God changed her heart through the tragic death of her husband and best friend. He was there to meet her in her greatest time of need.
Our God is an awesome God indeed!
