Monday, 1/5/09, Day 54 - Exodus 10:1-11:10, What are the "gods" of our modern society?

Hmm... I'm not really sure. But I think that one of them would be beauty like Michelle said. I definitely concure with her. She is right about how beauty is different to many people and that we don't have the right to judge what is beautiful to our eyes when in God's perspective EVERYTHING is beautiful, everything that He created with His own two hands are beautiful to Him. The beauty of Nature to me is always breathtaking, it really never fails to amaze me at all. I just loved the view we had at last year's Winter Retreat, it was breahtaking everyday just to see it while we worshiped, played games, and many other times we were in that room. Michelle is right about that we don't have the right to judge what is beauty to us, because everyone has a different perspective of what beauty is. And I think another one would the the different trends, like flats, vans, velcros, skinny jeans, converse, the deer hunting hat (sorry Catcher in the Rye... and I saw a lot of people at school wearing it), and North Face. That's all I can think of but I know there are still more. All those trends are temporary and God is here today, tomorrow, and forever. But trends go away probably after a year or so. A lot of people want to know the lastest trends to fit in and look cool. But they are temporary. I can not imagine how much money people would spend just to get something that is "IN" style.
