Day 76 Crossing Jordan

It's important to remember how God has been involved in our lives. If we can, our faith is strengthened. Faith is like a muscle as we excercise it, it grows stronger. Following God and remembering the times God has helped us, or saved us, or worked things out in our lives encourages us, causes us to thank and praise God. When we do our relationship with God is what it's supposed to be, and we can deal with the present and face the future with confidence as we remind ourselves how good God has treated us in the past.

The word "ebenezer" means "stone of remembrance". Abraham, Isaac, jacob would build alters to signify God's extra special care for them. Here in this story Joshua does the same to remind them of God's miraculous power and care for them. Everytime I watch Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, I'm reminded how God saved me. Whenever I listen to Brahms'German Requiem I remember how God comforted me. Whenever I go to the Lakeside Cafe, where I first met Iris, I am reminded how God has blessed me.
