Tuesday, 12/30/08 (Day 48) Exodus 3:1-22 In the past, how has God gotten your attention to let you know of a job He had for you?

In the past, how has God gotten your attention to let you know of a job He had for you? Hmm...well I guess being a youth leader is an example. When i heard that i was nominated to be a youth leader, i was actually surprised. Actually, i knew that a lot of people would be nominated. I was confused as to why me? (yeah it is always the same question for me.) I have not been to church for long, didn't know God too well, and i see myself to be very shy. These qualities didn't seem to fit the definition to being a leader. I prayed a lot because i really couldn't decide whether or not to take this job, i actually really couldn't say no. It got me thinking about all the positive things to this job. It would get me closer to God, contribute a big part to the fellowship, and open myself in different ways. I looked down on myself because i let my weaknesses define my potential; there was a reason why i was nominated and i think God was trying to tell me. It was a time for a change and it felt like a big leap. I had to trust God that he would carry me through. Like Mark said in the earlier posts; there is no coincidence when God is involved. It was not just a coincidence that i was nominated. I am glad to be a leader. It does get stressful at times and I do sometimes feel like i am not doing a good job. All in all, i got closer to God because i have been given a lot of responsibilty that needs prayer to get through, i am more aware of my actions, i had to step out of my comfort zone a lot of times and needed strength from God to give me comfort in letting me know it is ok to do things i am not used to, and I got closer to the people in fellowship. I am not the perfect leader, no one is. I am still learning and I am glad that God has gotten my attention for this wonderful job. I am glad that i listened to Him in the end.

wow, i think there is one really long run-on sentence in there XD

  1. Thank you for another excellent post. You have very quickly gotten the value of reading and contemplating and responding to God's word. You are doing a great job as a leader. You bring a lot of energy and ideas to the fellowship and the leadership team. I think you have a great gift of thinking about things, and then you express your ideas clearly and powerfully. We leaders really appreciate the open and honest and forthright way you tell us what's on your mind. Your comments are very helpful. I expect one year from now, we will be able to look back and rejoice on how God has used you to make a difference in the fellowship and how much you will have grown as a leader and as a person. God bless.
